I used to buy pre-made meatballs but they always tasted kind of funky, so I got to work and came up with a recipe that incorporated my favourite flavours, fresh herbs, garlic and spices, oh I love my spices! These meatballs can be served with hummus or a good Greek yoghurt dressing.
Place the slices of bread into a bowl and cover with cold water, once the bread is soaking wet, drain the water and set aside.
In a large bowl place the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Add the bread and squish the mixture with your hands to mix the bread into the meat mixture.
Make the mixture into little balls and set aside in the fridge covered for at least 1 hour.
Preheat your oven to 180C or 350F. Place the meatballs into a roasting dish lined with baking paper and bake until cooked through. Keep an eye on them and turn every 5-10 minutes so that they brown evenly.
Place onto toothpicks and serve with hummus, tzatziki or sour cream with sweet chilli sauce.
