About ME..YO-YO DIETER, FOOD ADDICT & EXERCISE JUNKIE!I have created this site as a way to keep on track with my weight loss and to publish my recipes for anyone who struggles to come up ideas of what to cook that's easy, fresh, healthy and cost effective, we can't all afford big slabs of salmon and punnets of berries which in New Zealand cost a fortune! Being without full time work, I have learned to economise on the grocery list and create tasty meals that don't cost the earth, all it takes is a little direction a dose of creativity and a shot of enthusiasm.
I am a food addict and a yo-yo dieter and have been one most of my life. Each time that I have lost a substantial amount of weight I've put it back on and then some once I've started to eat normally again. After years of following this destructive pattern I've finally woken up and hopped off the starvation + excess exercise merry-go-round and now opt for healthy food + regular exercise. I have always been able to cook, but in the past I would rather spend more time exercising than cooking. On one of my insane diet episodes I lost 30kg in three months from going to the gym 14 times a week and eating nothing but tuna and rice for dinner, fruit for breakfast and a green salad for lunch, I was always tired, extremely moody and getting my energy from cans of energy drinks and coffee! I go through periods of being very focused where I weigh every morsel of food, to being free and easy with food and exercising like a demon to fix the extra mouthfuls I've had, I'm sick of it and am now ready to face this in a focused AND positive way.
