Delicious hummus, I love it! I use it sometimes instead of low fat spread on my sandwiches, as a dressing, and as a dip. It's very cheap to make and you can add your own herbs and spices to create your signature hummus! Thanks to my friend Tray for the recipe <3
Ingredients 410g tin of chickpeas 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped (be warned! this packs a punch) 2 tablespoons of hulled tahini (you can use un-hulled but I find it a bit gritty) 2 tablespoons of olive oil 2 Tablespoons of lemon juice
Drain the chickpeas and reserve the liquid which can be used for thinning the hummus if you find it too thick.
Put the chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic and tahini into the food processor and process till smooth gradually adding the oil. You should end up with a thick mixture. If you find it too thick add a tablespoon of reserve liquid from the chickpeas and mix. Keep adding the liquid until you get to the desired consistency.
