Who doesn't love a burger? I love burgers but they can have a lot of hidden fat in them. I have my burgers without the bread to save on the fat content and fill my burger meat with loads of herbs and spices, yum!
Ingredients - makes 4 burger patties 500g beef mince (ground beef) 2 teaspoons paprika 3 cloves garlic 1 red onion, finely chopped 1 teaspoon beef stock powder 1 slice wholegrain bread Salt and pepper to season
Place the slice of bread into a bowl and cover with cold water, Soak until the bread is saturated then drain the water and squeeze out the excess.
Into a large bowl place the beef mince, paprika, garlic, onions and stock powder. Add the soaked bread and mix through well with your hands. Form into 4 burger patties.
Heat a non-stick pan on medium-high heat and spray with olive oil spray, place the burgers into the pan and brown on each side, turn the heat down and cook until the juices run clear.
Serve with a salad, an egg and/or a burger bun and your favourite low fat condiments.
