Recently I sampled a berry smoothie in a box called "Up & Go", it's a breakfast drink made from milk, fruit and weetbix, it's thick, delicious and quite satisfying. I decided that I wanted to have a go at re-creating this drink at home but I ran out of weetbix so that next best thing was rolled oats! This smoothie tastes great and fills the gap, if you are not a breakfast eater, this is a great way to get you going.
Ingredients - serves 1 1 banana 1/4 cup rolled oats 1 cup frozen berries 3/4 cup low fat milk 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Place the rolled oats into a blender and blend until the oats are ground into a powder. Add the banana, berries, milk and vanilla and blend until well mixed.
